GeekCraft Expo Midwest Doubles the Fun in Year Two
Wow, GeekCraft Expo Midwest's second year was a smashing success! We welcomed more than 4,000 craft-loving people through our doors to explore an incredible assortment of handmade geeky goods created by Wisconsin-area artisans--more than double the attendance of our debut in 2016.
So many people to thank! First off, we'd like to thank The Bodgery for coming to our show and running some incredible demonstrations, including block printing, as well as hosting our kick-off party! The Bodgery is truly a unique space for makers to come together to create anything they can dream up.
We'd also like to thank the Masonic Center's Lisa Zimmerman and her parents--they were fantastic, and we highly recommend Madison's Masonic Center to anyone who is looking for a great event space.
Special thanks to our prize sponsors, including Geeks Mania Arcade, The Game Crafter, and Artist & Craftsman Supply, as well as our exhibitors: Asha's Homemade Candles, crafted., Edelweiss Gifts & More, EnVee Jewelry Design, Geek Foundry, GirlyGeekChic, Plushmer, bluetiedesigns, and Camp Coaster!
We also had two members of The Bodgery who spontaneously donated prizes at the party: Peter Liethen, who gave a 3D-printed dragon, and Andy Long, who offered a chainmaille/scalemaille bracelet. Andy also stopped by GeekCraft Expo Midwest wearing his famous chainmaille suit, pictured below!
Our thanks also to the local media who helped spread the word! The Wisconsin State Journal published a fantastic interview, and NBC15 invited us to their Morning Show. NBC15 also stopped by the show itself, as did WKOW 27.
Finally, we'd like to thank everyone who came, saw, shopped, and stopped by to say hello. It was a pleasure to spend a weekend with a bunch of like-minded nerds who truly valued the hard work and creativity of our exhibitors--we wouldn't have had an expo without you.
